Licensed Practical Nurse-GLPP Orthopedics

UPMC Hamot is currently seeking to hire a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) to help support the Great Lakes Physician PracticeOrthopedic Office, located in Jamestown and Dunkirk, NY.
The LPN in this position will work a Monday-Friday schedule, with daylight hours varying between7:45AM-5:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays required.
Great Lakes Physician Practice Orthopedics is an established, very busy local orthopedic practice made up of multiple locations. The LPN in this positionwill be required totravel to cover other satellite locationswith theprimary locationbeing Dunkirk andsatellite locations being Hamburg and Jamestown.
GLPP Orthopedics is seeking an experienced office setting and/or orthopedic setting LPNwho isflexible andenjoyfast pacedwork environments.
The LPN will hold multiple responsibilities including the clinical tasks of assessing patient vital signs, administering medications and vaccinations, and ordering laboratory tests and consultations per physician requests. Additionally, the LPN will be responsible for tasks including rooming patients, completing patient phone triage, and assisting patients with updating medical questionnaires and medical records.Responsibilities:
Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing care for patients and their families.
Possesses the ability to obtain and interpret information considering age specific needs.
Conducts interviews with patient to answer questions related to healthcare problems and provides necessary counseling utilizing all resource persons and materials available.
Administers medications and vaccines as ordered by attending physician and keeps abreast of changes in requirements for immunization, flu vaccines and allergy injections.
Responsible for sterilization of office equipment and ordering of stock supplies and keeps appropriate records of same.
Performs laboratory duties assuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
Identifies and communicates educational needs of patients to their physician and does teaching in these areas upon his/her request.
Assists physician in patient examination and performs specialized procedures.
Maintains competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences with necessary documentation.

Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.
Prior LPN clinical experience preferred.
Prior office experience preferred.
Priororthopedic experience preferred.
Prior EMR experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York
Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
